Pope John Paul II - A Pope of Faith

I really enjoyed creating this piece in particular, as it is one of my few, and relatively large, acrylic portraits. Pope John Paul II is an individual that I have admired, as the first Polish head of the Catholic church. Even more so, Pope John Paul was a major supporter for encouraging an unashamed faith in God, a fervent inspiration and foundation for family life, and an encouragement for young people to activate their faith in ways that are real and tangible. It was my hope to show that tangible sense and rawness in this piece, with the black and white contrast illuminating his gentle nature and immoveable strength.
