King of the Jungle

This is one of the newest digital pencil sketches of the digital collection. Inspired by a several wildlife photo collections I've been studying, I wanted to draw something that was captivating and confronting. The vividness of the lion's eyes is both bright and invigorating and give immense detail to the rest of his face, and sense of pleasure and kindness in his expression.  Done mostly in various grades of digital pencil, marker, and watercolor, the detail was meant to capture his authority and incredible design bestowed on him by his Creator as the "King of the Jungle".
